All lessons are given by qualified native speakers. Within the international 6 level system established by The Council of Europe, we divide our own classes into 8 levels.

Our placement test is free of charge and carries no obligation on the part of the student. The test lasts at least 45 mins. It consists of:

  1. 50 multiple choice questions
  2. a short narrative composition (150-200 words)
  3. a short talk in English with the Director of the school
The third part tests the spoken English of a ‘student’, but not only this; we also wish to find out more about the ‘person’ - their previous experience, their hopes, their ambitions.
At each level we have many groups, so that there is a choice of lesson times.
Maximum group size is 12 students.
At the end of each semester there is a progress test.
At the end of each course Diplomas are available as proof of attendance and progress.

Types of Courses

  1. Standard annual courses (120 hours). Lessons consist of 2 lesson hours and take place twice a week.
  2. Intensive courses (60 to 120 hours). Lessons consist of 2 lesson hours, three times a week.
  3. Cambridge Examination Courses are standard and intensive as above.
For students who have entered exams, we have free additional meetings on Fridays and Saturdays when students can take past examination papers as practice. Thanks to these sessions our students are familiar with exam atmosphere, effective strategy and timing as well as knowing weak areas they may need to concentrate on.
  4. Vacation Courses. A special feature of our summer courses is that students may choose when to start a course, and how long they would like to come for. The minimum period is 1 week, the maximum normally 8. There are two types:
    • super-intensive courses 20 hours a week, 5 meetings of 4 lesson hours,
    • intensive courses 10 hours a week, 5 meetings of 2 lesson hours.
  5. In-house Company Courses. These may be General or Specialist English courses. The length and type of course can be tailored to suit the needs of individualfirms. Costs are a matter for individual negotiation.
